Panel to Discuss Medication Therapy Management for People with Medicare

Findings from New Report on Medication Therapy Management for People with Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Forms of Dementia to be Presented

A panel of experts will discuss medication therapy management (MTM) in the context of the new Medicare prescription drug benefit. The speakers will evaluate how private insurers offering the Medicare Part D benefit provide MTM services and make recommendations on how these services could be improved, particularly for people with Alzheimer's disease and dementia, and those who reside in a long term care setting.

Using actual case studies, the panel will discuss how finding and correcting problems in the medication regimen can improve the health and quality of live of older adults.

Findings and recommendations from “Making Medication Therapy Management a Cornerstone of Community-Based Care for People with Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Forms of Dementia,” a new report by the Medicare Rights Center, a national consumer service organization, will be presented.
