Rx Benefit Top AARP Priority
AARP is making the addition of a Medicare prescription drug benefit its chief priority this year and is planning to launch a grassroots campaign across the country to educate older adults about the issue.
For the first time, AARP will take a stand on the different prescription drug proposals and tell its 35 million members how congressional candidates measure up. AARP will use its publications, Web site, and state offices to educate its members about the prescription drug debate. To add to the pressure, the group will hold events in the home districts of members of the House and Senate budget committees and is asking its members to contact Congress and the White House to advocate for a Medicare prescription drug benefit.
You should contact your members of Congress to share your views on adding a prescription drug benefit to Medicare. For their contact information, go to www.visi.com/juan/congress.
